How it's done

One of Carol's pictures in a support frame with the glass cut and ground to fit the design. She will now attach copperfoil around each piece and solder it all together. Finally h-shaped lead came will be put round the edge for strength.
The fusing kiln. The glass is cut to a design and placed on a treated shelf then fired to about 800°C. It is cooled to room temperature and the placed on a mould and reheated to 700°C to be shaped.
Carol using a blow torch to make beads. Brian is also using this to flame work pieces to include in his fused pieces.
